Okay, so you want to make your house battery bank bigger?
If you just add more batteries, you may be overloading the engine alternator, so it would be wise to consult us or someone like us. There are many options today to control battery charging rates.
A good simple example of this is our service truck, it came with a 160 amp alternator. When the 2nd battery was added, you would not want to just add a solenoid, you may need to limit the charge rate, to not overload the engine alternator.
So to solve this problem, I installed a battery to battery charger. This devise solves a few problems.
- allows the charger unit to be programmed for the AGM type battery
- Slow the charge rate down to a lower pace
- Not overload the engine’s alternator
- protect the primary battery system, so it does not affect the voltage.
